GOLGOTHA

As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross.  They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull).  There they offered Jesus wine to drink mixed with gall, but after tasting it, he refused to drink it.  When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.  And sitting down, they kept watch over him there.  Above his head they placed the written charge gaainst him:  THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.  (Matthew 27:32-37)

We aren’t forced to carry Jesus cross, but can we do anything less?

King of my life I crownThee now, Thine shall the glory be.  Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.  Lead Me to Calvary, Jennie Evelyn Hussey

WHAT WONDROUS LOVE

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!  *What wondrous love is this, O my soul!  *What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss * To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul, *To bear the dreadful curse for my soul.

Anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s curse.  Deuteronomy 21:23
