WHO CAN HARM US?

Keep giving and stay out of dept.”  These words came from our good friend, Dennis Arzoian.  We’d been talking about the present global crisis.  “Either the market will go back up or Jesus will come.”  Also from Dennis.

Should we sell our lot in Oregon?  Should we cash in our few stocks?  Should we pay off this house?

Though David and I are disappointed our retirement is on hold, we’re confident in this verse:  Who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? (I Peter 3:13)

Considering the above verse and Dennis’ words, I think I know some of the answers to those and other questions:

*  Should we pay off the house?  That seems to be what is good, don’t you think?  It will also help keep us out of debt.

*  Should we sell the lot in Oregon?  We’re getting information and doing nothing else until we are directed otherwise.  We’re convinced either way will not harm us–unless we deliberately go against God’s will.

What about the stocks?  We believe God is already working that one out.

Should we continue to give?  Jesus says to “give and it will be given to you.  A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.”  (Luke 6:38)  Looks like Dennis agrees with Jesus.

With our common sense (David has more of this than I do) and God’s loving protection (we both have that–it’s free!), who can harm us?

I hope you have a big lap!

If anyone has words of wisdom on the market or on the scripture involving these things, I’d love to hear from you.

Remember:  *  Be nice.  * Keep it under 400 words.  *Also I”d love to have your pictures.

While you’re sitting wondering what to do with those stocks, grab a copy of Ebenezer and Ninety-Eight Friends, Musings on Life, Scripture and the Hymns.  It won’t answer the stock question, but Jesus is on many a page, and He can guide you.  colorado-yosemite-012
