They say you marry someone like your mother. What do David and my mother have in common? They both say to enjoy where you are and don’t wish your life away. I think they’re both getting as eager as I am.
However, with this advice in mind…David and I are living in this comfortable–luxury even–apartment complex. It’s a little like being on vacation, except David has to go to work.
So, grow where you’re planted, live at the top of your stairs–and welcome back to Martymagee.com
Again, welcome back. Though my book is not close to being finished, I thought I’d blog this last month I’m here. I’m going to try to make it about today, each day.
I have learned in whatsoever state (even California) I am to be content. Philippians 4:11
Note: If anyone can help me place these pictures, please come forward. Celest and Danny—Heeeeelp!
Dear Friends, at the suggestion of Dan Norsworthy and Jenny Magee, I’ve decided not to shut down MartyMagee.com, but to take an extended break–which I’ve already done.
First, I’d like to tell you a few things that have been going on. The house at left was our home in Springfield Oregon nearly 20 years ago. This was it a few weeks ago. It brought back pleasant memories as we drove by.
Speaking of houses, if you check out www.3051sierra.com you’ll see the house we’re trying to sell. It’s not like us to have every sock picked up and every dish washed. So, you can see the extra time it takes this undomestic blogger.
MILL CITY BACK YARD
If we sell our Fresno house, we plan to move to Mill City. Go to www.realtor.com and type in 1205 Third Av, Mill City OR to see our possible new place.
Here’s one reason we want to move back to Oregon:
LITA AND SADIE--CRAYOLA SPECIALISTS
Here’s a reason we’ve been holding off on the move:
MR WILSON OR PEEPING TORRANCE?
Please look for my second book. MUPPIM, HUPPIM AND ARD should be out sometime in 2010. I’m sure it will be easier to write than figuring out how to place pictures on this mind-of-its-own blog.
Meanwhile, there are a few copies of EBENEZER left.
Blessings to you all!

Greetings. I’m glad to be back. I was locked out for a few days.
Enjoy with me the Ohio countryside enhanced by the TLC of Jo and Harvey Bond.
Fair are the meadows, Fairer still the woodlands,
Robed in the blooming garb of spring.
Jesus is faires, Jesus is purer,
who makes the woeful heart to sing.

REST FROM YOUR LABOR
I’m not sure what Abe made. It’s some sort of a contraption that shoots all the way from Ohio to the Mississippi River. Well, not quite, but it’s pretty powerful.
I don’t know how he ever has time to play dominos with Lita or play on the playground
Or love his Lita….
But he seems to be able to do it all.
He even has time to read Ebenezer and Ninety-Eight Friends.
Evan Bond is an accomplished cellist. He played for us:
Long, Long Ago * Allegro * O Come Little Children * Go Tell Aunt Rhodie
Debuting was beginning drummer (or tinner) Aili Selfridge.
Aili soloed on one number. We’re not sure of the title. She composed it as she played for us. Amazing!
We hope the more learned Evan Bond will agree to take promising Aili Selfridge on tour with him. This is still under negotiation.
Thank God for kids and for music. It would be a sad world without either.
Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. Psalm 33:2
Evan played skillfully and Aili was definitely joyful.
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Mark 10:14
We’ll talk more about kids next time.
Ebenezer and Ninety-Eight Friends talks much about kids and music. Grab a copy.
