David wishes he could leisurely read the paper every day. But some of us have to work for a living. Tomorrow will be my first real day off work–though I played today. I am thankful God and David are seeing fit for me to retire and pursue my passion of writing. Please pray with me that I will use this time wisely. I’ll take gentle advice from any already retirees–or any smart person or any person who thinks he is smart. You may comment on my blog or on my e-mail.

Well, friend, now nobody needs to know how to set the retirement clock. Congratulations.
I’m on my knees asking God to give you the drive and passion to keep on keeping on. As you have always done, set the rudder of your will and He’ll power the boat. I love seeing the faithfulness of God in your life.
Have you thrown away your watch yet? Or did they give you one as a retirement present?

This morning Resi asked me what I was going to do today. “Nothing”, I replied. “You did that yesterday”, she said. “Yeah”, I said, “but I didn’t finish”.
But the great thing about retirement is not doing nothing, it’s being able to do nothing when and if you want to. But there’s always plenty to do. Enjoy the options.

I love them all. Thanks for taking time out of your busy retirement to comment. I particularly like Joe’s comment about not being through doing nothing. It’s not even noon and I’ve already walked, read my Bible, written for my second book, written a blog…. sheesh, I’m too tired to think of the rest. I think I’ll try doing nothing tomorrow.
